The Video Door Phone lets you see who's ringing your doorbell, without you ever being seen. If you choose, you can also converse with the person at the door. It's the perfect way to distinguish expected visitors from pesky door-to-door solicitors. A button on the outdoor camera rings a chime and a black and white video image of the visitor will be displayed on the phone's 4-inch flat CRT screen. If you want to talk to your visitor, simply pick up the handset and begin speaking. The camera's built-in microphone will pick up your visitor's voice automatically. Even if your visitor knocks on the door instead of pressing the doorbell on the camera, you can still activate the system simply by pressing the "monitor" button on the videophone. You can also use this feature to investigate suspicious noises. The monitor will display what the camera sees, so you can get a clear view of what's going on outside without compromising your safety. The camera uses infrared illuminators to see what's happening, even at night.
